Princess Lily is according to them ready to go home after 20 minutes and I’m sure she will be very glad to get there.

When we arrive home, Booth bumps heads with Lily in greeting, he was concerned about his little buddy and wondered what has happened to her.  I let her out of her carrier, upstairs where it will be quiet and she can rest.  She climbs into a bed.  I notice that she is shaking a lot and think that it’s because her fur is now only 1/2″ long.  Her breathing seems okay.   I check on her every 15 to 20 minutes and notice that her breathing is getting worse, it’s very labored and shallow.  Very concerned I call the office using the private number.   I’m told to call the vet on her cell phone so she can meet me at their other office about 25 miles away.  I packed poor Princess Lily back into her carrier and head for the office.  That was one very long drive.

When we arrive I see that the vet has called in the vet technician that helped earlier.  They both stand there observing her in her carrier.   I’m asking what can be wrong.   The vet doesn’t know and wants to do x-rays to check her organs and look for fluids.  I ask them how are they going to do the x-rays and they say they will figure out something.   I know that they both have no idea how they will do this since they are both very frightened of her, and don’t want me to help because they are concerned she will hurt me!

After what seemed like forever waiting and crying because I feel this is my fault, they return.  Princess Lily’s mouth is bleeding!  What NOW!!  They explained they had used a leash to hold her and she grabbed it and must have bit her upper lip.

The vet shows me the x-rays and sees nothing out of the ordinary, though the x-rays are not great, she doesn’t think anything is wrong.   She tells me that when she checked her at the other office she didn’t hear a heart murmur and so wasn’t concerned about that.  She decides to give her a shot of Benadryl saying that will help.  Using a pole the vet technician gave Lily the injection.  The vet says she will call in the morning to see how Princess Lily is doing and to try to keep her quiet and see if we can get her to eat and drink.

We arrive home and I am still so concerned, her mouth is bleeding, she’s still shaking and her breathing is slightly better.  I’m hoping the Benadryl will help.  I know this will be a very long night and I wonder when I get up in the morning~~~~Will she still be alive??
